Shamkhani stresses need to forge Iran-Turkey security ties

He made the remarks in a meeting with Turkish Prime Minister National Security Advisor Seifollah Haji Muftioglu on Wednesday afternoon on the sidelines of the 8th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues in Russia.

During the meeting, Shamkhani explained special security situation in the region and underlined holding regular meetings between national security officials of the two states to eliminate misunderstandings, which might have negative impact on warm and historical relations between the two neighbors.

Seifollah Haji Muftioglu, for his part , expressed pleasure for holding first meeting with Shamkhani, and called for continuation of bilateral meetings to consider issues of mutual interest and determining mechanisms to provide common interests of both nations.
