Shamkhani congratulates liberation of Mosul to Iraqi nation, Ulema

Shamkhani sent separate congratulatory messages to Ayatollah Sistani and Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to congratulate them on the liberation of Mosul from Daesh (the ISIS terrorist group).

There is no doubt that this significant victory belongs to all Iraqi people in their struggle against Daesh terrorist group, he said in his messages.

Once again it has been proved that the will of big powers and some countries in the region who seek to prepare ground for long presence of the terrorists in Iraq is doomed to failure, he said.

In fight against terrorism priority should be given to cultural and ideological challenges more than to security and military confrontation, Shamkhani said.

It is expected that after withdrawal of terrorists and return of tranquility and stability to Iraq to witness the country’s growth and developments at international arena in order to demonstrate a successful model of resistance against plots and proxy wars, he said.

The Iranian government, armed forces and people are ready to help Iraqi government and people and render humanitarian aid to displaced people and also help reconstruct Iraqi cities as well as the country’s infrastructures, Shamkhani said.
