Russian official hails Iran, Russia achievements in settling Syrian crisis

Talking to IRNA On Wednesday, he stressed the positive outcomes of Tehran-Moscow convergence on Syria and said the two countries will continue with their real anti-terrorism combat in Syria.

Noting that large parts of Syria including Aleppo have been cleansed from terrorist groups, he said the reinforcement of such a trend required solidarity and cooperation in both regional and international levels.

He said the international community ought to contribute to anti-terrorism fight because the evil phenomenon is not exclusive to Syria but rather Iran too is suffering from the presence of terrorist groups.

The Russian official further said that, as repeatedly stressed by the Russian President before, it is necessary for para-military and popular forces in Syria and Iraq to unite as an international coalition to fight against terrorists.

Pointing to the upcoming talks in Astana, Kazakhstan, on Syria crisis, he said that Russia, Iran and Turkey are the three countries which have guaranteed sustainable ceasefire in Syria.

Bogdanov said the constructive negotiations between the three countries so far on working out a political solution to the Syrian crisis will continue till Jan 23 when Astana is hosting intra-Syrian talks with participation of representatives of the three countries plus the United Nations.

He further highlighted the common strategy followed by Tehran and Moscow which focuses on Syria’s integrity and the inalienable right of its people to decide for their own destiny.
