Rouhani's second term, promising

President Rouhani won Iran's Presidential election in 2013 in a landslide victory over its principlist rivals.

People voted for his declared moderate policies and his ethical code of 'wisdom and hope'.

During his four-year term in office, Rouhani fulfilled its promises, including fighting economic turmoil inside the country and improvement of Iran's ties with the world.

Resolving the nuclear issue was key to resolution of both Iran's domestic and foreign challenges.

After longstanding diplomatic talks, Iran and G5+1 (the US, the UK, France, Russia and China plus Germany) inked the nuclear deal, known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on July 14, 2015 in Vienna.

Inking of the nuclear deal was a turning-point in Iran's history which led to closure of PMD (Possible Military Dimension) of Iran's peaceful nuclear program in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

All Iran's nuclear-related sanctions, including the embargos imposed on Iran's energy industry, banking sector, shipping industry, international trade and insurance were lifted.

Rouhani's economic team could curb the inflation rate and the high inflation rate of over 30 percent in 2013 decreased to less than 10 percent in 2017.

Iran's both oil and non-oil export witnessed a growth and Iran's oil export increased to over 2.2 million bpd on average from its 1.2 million bpd in 2013.

After the nuclear deal, hundreds of top foreign economic and political delegations visited Tehran in an unprecedented move towards reinforcement of all-out ties with the Islamic Republic.

In the Rouhani era, Islamic Republic's principle of 'dignity, wisdom and prudence' came into effect and as a result of hard efforts by the Iranian career diplomats, including Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran could play a key role in resolution of Syria crisis through the Syrian talks, mediated by Iran, Russia and Turkey held in the Kazakh capital of Astana.

Iran's support for the Iraqi and Syrian army and government has also led to defeat of Takfiri terrorist groups, including Daesh (known also as ISIS, ISIL) in the battlefield and the two major occupied cities of Aleppo and Mosul were liberated in 2016 and 2017, respectively.

After being in office for four years, Rouhani was granted by the Iranian nation to be re-elected for another term as Iran's president.

Rouhani for the second time defeated the principlist camp in 2017 presidential election and was reelected on May 19 presidential election, sweeping over 23 million or 57 percent of the votes.

President Rouhani's victory was welcomed by the world and eight foreign presidents as well as 19 Parliament Speakers are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony of President Rouhani on August 5.

After four years of hard work on improvement of Iran's infrastructure and in the meantime having both foreign and domestic support, Rouhani has fewer problems to implement the 20-year national vision of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to the official reports, Rouhani's government has been one of the governments very much loyal to the targets, determined in the 5th Five-year Development Plan (2011/12-2015/16)). Iran's 6th Five-year Development Plan (2016/17-2020/21) has been communicated to Rouhani by the Majlis (parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani in the final year of his first term in office.

Despite challenges posed by the newly-elected US President Donald Trump, Rouhani can overcome the difficulties easily because it has support of the European Union and the Asian powers against the Washington unilateral decisions.

Iran's oil revenues are increasing as the result of promotion of country's oil production and export and in the meantime, the country has inked agreements with many giant international companies, including France's Total for transfer of technology and joint investment.

The Iranian people expect economic boom in the coming years, reduction of unemployment, getting the country out of recession and improvement of country's infrastructure.
