Riyadh summit 'a useless exercise', serving Israel interests: Pak MP

In an interview with IRNA, Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi said that it is very unfortunate that the long standing issue of Palestine was completely ignored in the summit and nobody talked about the plight of innocent Palestinians at the event.

“US President Donald Trump participated in the conference as big brother of Israel and tried his best to protect the interests of the illegitimate regime,” he added.

He went on to say that the summit was just a show piece event with no value, no outcome and no decision.

Mashhadi added that the conference was organized so that Saudi Arabia and the US can make a business deal which could save the deteriorating US economy.

“The interests of Saudi Arabia, US and Israel are same in the region,” he said.

He noted that another objective of the conference was an attempt to isolate Iran which is not possible, the MP viewed.
