Quds Day, a fight against tyrannical political system: Leader

He added that the fight against the Zionist regime “is the fight against arrogance and imperialism and that is why the US politicians consider it as a blow and hostile move.”

Addressing a group of university professors and academic elites, Ayatollah Khamenei noted, “We are on the eve of Quds Day which is a crucial day and is not just like that we are defending an oppressed nation expelled from their homeland; we, as a matter of fact, are fighting an oppressive and tyrannical political establishment.”

The Leader reiterated the significance of marking the Quds Day which is initiated by the Founder of the Islamic Republic the late imam Khomeini and is being held by world Muslims in the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan to demonstrate Muslims support for the cause of Palestine and their hatred towards the Zionist occupiers.

The day of anti-Zionist expression was first declared by Late Imam Khomeini, the Leader of Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution who established the annual event in order to bring international attention to the Palestinian cause.

Iranians demonstrate their hatred for the Zionist occupiers of the Palestinian territories each year during the Quds Day rallies nationwide and unanimously urge the liberation of the occupied lands and make the world hear voice of the defenseless Palestinian nation.
