Presidential candidate praises Iran diplomacy of power

Appearing on Channel Two of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, Qalibaf presented his viewpoints on the national and international affairs and his presidential agenda.

The main points he discussed in the interview include:

1. It was the Islamic Republic of Iran’s diplomacy of power that created the opportunity for the country to negotiate with the world.

2. In the past, the battlefield was a military one, but now we are in an economic war.

3. To confront the policies of the United States, we need to create jobs and businesses.

4. “Government of People”, if elected to the office, will defeat the US through hard work and by relying on a booming economy not through slogans and rhetoric.

5. As the head of the government, I will surely safeguard the nuclear deal, known also as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, because the international deal between Tehran and six world powers, was the result of a joint decision made by the Islamic establishment.

6. I continue to pin hope on creative and educated youths.

7. Corruption, found anywhere, must be wiped out. Failing to fight corruption amounts to imposition of “oppression on the general public.”

8. Managers, governors, and ministers in the ‘Government of People’ won’t be allowed to enter trade and commercial activities.

9. Addiction to narcotics, emigration to big cities, and working children are serious social problems that should be addressed as soon as possible.

10. “The right to know is a right for all.”
