President underlies protecting people's privacy

He made the remarks in a meeting of the Iranian Supreme Council of Cyberspace.

According to reports, 20 million MTN Irancell users' data have been exposed to the public recently. MTN Irancell is one of the most popular and second largest mobile phone operator in Iran.

On July 3, Mahmoud Vaezi, Iran's Minister of Communications was questioned in parliament about the incident.

He confirmed that the initial leak of customer data occurred three years ago and was carried out by an employee of a third party organization working with Irancell.
