Hossein Jaberi-Ansari, Senior Assistant to Iran's Foreign Minister, met with President Aoun and delivered President Rouhani's message to him.
The message contained information about the new developments in Iran Deal, especially after the US exit from the internationally-supported deal, a senior politician told Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) earlier.
President Rouhani discussed Iran's stances, policies, and approach towards the JCPOA.
Lebanon has repeatedly expressed support for the Iran's peaceful nuclear program and has explicitly opposed US withdrawal from the deal.
Following the meeting with the Lebanese president, Jaberi-Ansari is to hold separate a meeting with the Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri as well.
