President Rouhani slams fatal terror attack in Egypt

“Condemning the heinous terrorist crime during Friday Prayers in Egypt, I extend Iranian people's and my sincere condolences to the Egyptian people and the bereaved families of the victims,” Rouhani wrote in a Twitter message released on Saturday.

Earlier, Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi strongly condemned the terrorist attack, saying such incidents double the responsibility of the regional governments to gain a real and accurate understanding of terrorism and require their collective efforts to combat it.

More than 300 people were killed and dozens injured in an attack on a mosque in Egypt's North Sinai region on Friday.

This terrorist attack has been the biggest in the recent history of Egypt.
