President: Iran welcomes boosting cooperation with Belarus, Eurasia

“Tehran welcomes cooperation in economic, scientific and technological fields with Minsk and also the countries of Eurasia region,” President Rouhani said during the meeting.

President Rouhani pointed to good relations between Iran and the Republic of Belarus, and said, “Development and deepening of bilateral ties benefits both nations and governments.”

He pointed to the need for making use of opportunities and capacities existing between two countries in different economic, technological and scientific sectors, and said, “We should move in line of encouraging, supporting and getting more acquainted with the private sectors as well as organizations and institutions of both countries.”

President Rouhani also pointed to Iran’s principled program for the development of transit route of South-North Corridor, and said, “Iran and Belarus can become a bridge to link Persian Gulf to the European Union in addition to mutual cooperation.”

The Belarus official, for his part, underlined the importance of expanding politico-economic relations with Iran, and said, “After lifting the sanctions, the time is now ripe for further deepening and fortifying relations between the two countries.”
