President departs for Pakistan to attend ECO Summit

President Rouhani visits Pakistan upon an official invitation of Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The president was in southeastern province of Sistan-Balouchestan on Tuesday before leaving for Islamabad from Zahedan.

Rouhani arrived in Zahedan for an official one-day visit on Tuesday morning to inaugurate some development projects in the region.

Before leaving Zahedan for Islamabad, the president told reporters that he would meet some of his counterparts on the sidelines of the ECO Summit.

He said that Terrorism and regional issues will be major topics of his discussions in Pakistan.

A number of cabinet ministers and high-ranking officials accompany the president.
