
Referring to the inaguaration of Imam Khomeini Space Center (IKSC), Presdient Rouhani underlined that Iran attaches great importance to space science and technology.
'As our capability and power enlarge in different sciences, our authority and dignity will be enhanced,' he added.
Presdient Rouhani reiterated that the post-sanction era has paved the way for flourishment of new scientific achivements which would lead to national development.
IKSC officially opened on Thursday with tentative launching of Simorgh (Phoenix) satellite carrier into the space.
IKSC is the first fixed platform base of Iran and is a huge complex undertaking all operations for preparation, launching, control and guiding satellite carriers.
IKSC is consistent with the latest international standards and is designed and built by the skilled experts of the Defense Ministry's Aerospace Organization, being capable of addressing the country's all needs in the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) in the final phase.
Simorgh satellite carrier is also capable of placing up to 250 kg satellites in the earth's 500 km orbit.
