Police confiscate 27 tons of smuggled rice in SE Iran

While conducting systematic patrols and searching vehicles, police officers stopped a trailer truck, Major Reza Shahrad said.

They discovered that the truck was carrying a smuggled shipment of rice which was on its way to the neighboring provinces, he said.

Due to the fact that smuggled goods inflict irreparable damage to the country's economy, the police in Iran are using all their capacity and power to fight the sinister phenomenon, he added.
