"Iran's historic stance about Palestine is known to everyone; there is no need to prove it to the world," said Alzoubi.

The importance of the issue of Palestine is clearly seen in Imam Khomeini's designation of the last Friday of Ramadan as the "Quds Day", he said, adding that Imam Khomeini wanted every Muslim country to unite to cut the occupying hands of the Zionist regime and defend the lawful rights of Palestinians.

The naming showed that Palestine is pivotal for Iranian foreign policy, he added.

He also said that Quds is a holy place and defending it is a duty for every Muslim.
