Commenting on final results of the election in Iran, sections of the media in Pakistan believe that the incumbent President Hassan Rouhani has an unassailable lead in Iran's presidential poll.
All newspapers and TV channels in the country have dedicated their headlines and main reports to the landmark political event in Iran, giving the Iranian elections special converges with special focus on the huge turnout.
Leading English daily ‘Dawn’ highlighted more than 40 million ballots cast and a turnout of about 70 per cent in the voting.
‘The News’, another Pakistani daily, in its report said a huge turnout on Friday -- estimated at more than 40 million out of 56 million registered voters -- led to the vote being extended by several hours to deal with long queues.
‘Express Tribune’ said that millions of Iranians queued up to vote on Friday, showing strong turnout in the 12th Presidential elections.
Another newspaper ‘The Nation’ reported that polling was extended for hours in Iran on Friday as voters flocked to cast their vote in Iran presidential elections.
‘Daily Times’ in its report said that millions of Iranians queued up to vote for the 12th Presidential elections showing strong turnout.
‘Geo Tv’ a Pakistani television channel reported that more than 40 million ballots were cast in Iran presidential elections which means the turnout of elections was about 70 percent.
‘Dunya Tv’ channel also said vote counting began in Iran on Saturday after a high turnout in the 12th Presidential elections.
‘Samaa Tv’ in its headline said, “Iran counts votes after big turnout in presidential election.”
State run ‘Radio Pakistan’ said that according to Iranian Interior Ministry, more than 40 million votes were cast indicating a turnout of about 70 per cent.
