Talking to IRNA, Raza Rabbani said, 'Iran has always taken balanced positions on regional issues. It’s been a position that has been substantiated by history; it’s been a position that has been substantiated on the principles of equity, principles of justice and I think on a good number of issues, Iran is a role model for developing countries,” he said.
The chairman also said that Iran, being a very important country in the region, will play a positive role in realization of the Asia dreams and it has a very pivotal role to play in the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA).
Describing Pakistan and Iran ties as deep and brotherly, Pakistan senate chairman said, 'Iran and Pakistan have historical and traditional ties and I am sure that the recent visit by Pakistan adviser on national security Nasser Khan Janjua to Tehran has been a very fruitful visit and will be able to further cement already existing brotherly relations.'
Rabbani said that Pakistan-Iran friendship group has been established in Pakistan senate. He hoped that a similar group could be established in Iran’s new parliament so that the two friendship groups could help further improve parliamentary and bilateral ties.
