The satellites were launched on Monday onboard a Chinese Long March (LM-2C) rocket.
One of the satellites launched is a remote sensing satellite (PRSS1) – a dual-purpose Earth observational and optical satellite.
With its launch, Pakistan has become one of the few countries to have its own remote sensing satellite in orbit.
The second test satellite launched is a PAK-TES-1A with an aim to enhance satellite manufacture capabilities in the country.
The China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALVT) and Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) have jointly made the satellites.
Earlier, China had also launched Pakistan's communication satellite PAKSAT-1R back in 2011.
China and Pakistan had signed an agreement in 2016 for the launch of a special remote sensing satellite this year in 2018.
The main reason for signing the agreement is to monitor the development of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.
Under the CPEC many infrastructure projects are under construction throughout Pakistan. Originally valued at $ 46 billion, the value of CPEC projects is now worth $ 62 billion.
The project will link Pakistani Gwadar port to China Xinjiang province. Iran has already expressed its desire to join the connectivity project.
