Pak MP stresses unity among Muslims to fight for rights of Palestinians

In an interview with IRNA, Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi said that Al-Quds day reminds all Muslims that liberation of the holy Quds is their responsibility.

The late leader of Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini initiated the International Quds Day as an integral part of Ramadan so that Muslims would never forget their responsibility and duty towards Palestine and all oppressed people in the world. The day is held each year on the last Friday of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

Tahir Hussain Mashhadi said that the Palestinians must get their homeland back and justice must be given to the Palestinian people and all the atrocities and crimes committed against them must be come to an end.

The politician added unfortunately some leading members of the Muslim world forget the Quds Day and it is not being celebrated in a sprit it was supposed to be.

The lawmaker noted that emergence of Arab-Israeli nexus is main reason that some Arab countries are not paying any attention to the cause of Palestine.

“The unholy alliance of the US, Saudi Arabia and Israel, in backing Daesh, playing politics in the neighboring states and trying to change the governments which is against the United Nations Charter and interfering in other countries’ sovereignty, as well as bringing chaos and disruption in the Muslim world, is a matter of grave concern for all Muslim countries,” said Tahir Mashhadi.

The MP was of the view that among the nations that are supporting Palestine, Iran stands first and has the courage to stand up for the rights of Palestinians in all regional and international levels and doing its best possible to lessen the sufferings of the poor Palestinian people whereas some Arab countries have lost interest in Palestine,” he added.
