Official: US unauthorized to talk about human rights issues

Gharibabadi responded to the annual reports issued by the US on the status of Human Rights in Iran.

Condemning the move, he said the US is not eligible to comment on Human Rights issues and accuse countries such as Iran that are among victims of violation of Human Rights by the US and its allies.

The US is now systematically violating Human Rights inside its territories and outside its territories and circulates such reports about other countries and only seek to deviate world public opinion from its own problems, he said.

Lack of legal judiciary proceedings, torture, violence, murder, compulsory disappearance, discrimination, racism, Islamophobia, genocide, major violation of rights of women, children and workers as well as imposing illegal limits on social and civilian freedoms are parts of violation of human rights by the US, he said.

The US legitimacy at the UN Human Rights Council is under question, he said, adding that the independent countries and international mechanism on Human Rights should examine the status of human rights in the US, he said.

The US exit from the council will push the council towards more independence, he said.
