Naqvi-Hosseini: IAEA’s report on Iran positive move

“The IAEA’s report which is issued in the second year of the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is a positive one and it once again reiterated on Iran’s commitment to fulfilling its commitments in line with nuclear agreement,” Naqavi-Hosseini said.

He noted that according to international laws the reports by IAEA are official documents for verification of Iran’s nuclear program and all countries should adopt their stances according to this verification process.

Naqavi-Hosseini pointed to the issue of increasing inspections by the IAEA inspectors as mentioned in Amano’s quarterly report, and said, “Admitting a rise in the number of inspections from the nuclear centers takes place according to the additional protocol because Iran has practically accepted implementation of the additional protocol and if the criterion was the implementation of the non-proliferation treaty (NPT), the inspections would have taken place in a defined manner.”

The senior lawmaker underlined that the IAEA’s report and documents once again dismissed the baseless allegations by some western countries, including the US, about Iran’s nuclear performance and showed the statements of the new officials of the White House contradict the international laws and regulations.

He pointed to the reduction in Iran’s uranium reserves, and said, “Given the process and nuclear exchanges between Iran and the countries such as Russia, the level of uranium varies and likewise the accumulation of products such as uranium.

The IAEA in a recent report underlined Iran’s commitment to JCPOA.
