
He made the remarks in a meeting with Omani counterpart Sheikh Khaled Bin Hilal Al-Maouli on the sidelines of the 140th Inter-Parliamentary Union Summit late on Sunday.
Stressing the need for promoting bilateral relations, he said, “The ties have always taken a good course, but they should improve further.”
Omani speaker, for his part, stressed the need for broadening relations, especially in the field of economy.
“Sisterhood agreement between the Iranian and Omani ports is one of the capacities that can be used in line with increasing trade between the two nations,” he said.
Noting that Oman has always adopted a diplomatic approach rather than military approach regarding regional developments, he said that countries which have experienced war know that what regretful consequences it would have.
The 140th IPU meeting opened in the Qatari capital on Saturday and will continue until April 11. It is attended by some 200 parliament speakers and delegations from different countries.
