
In his message to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and President Hassan Rouhani, Ortega expressed regret over the catastrophe and sympathized with victims of the sad occasion.
Offering his deepest grief, he wished patience for the bereaved families of the victims of the incident.

Despite the cruel and inhumane approach adopted by the US to block aids to Iranian flood-stricken people, various countries including Kuwait, Germany and internal bodies such as the UN information center in Iran (UNIC), the European Union and the Islamic Centre of England issued assistance to support Iranians.
