Brigadier Hassan Rahimi said, “On July 21, 2005 in Sarbook, Qasr-e Qand, Sistan-Baluchestan Province, the police force clashed with the public security violators in order to guard order and provide security. In this operation a police offer was martyred.”
Rahimi said, “With the intelligence dominance of the Iranian Police, the murderer was identified, but since then he had got away with the crime through changing accommodations and crossing the borders illegally.”
“Intelligence and operational units were tipped off that he was back into the country, and with a sophisticated surprise attack arrested him, as he was hiding in the highlands near Sarbook,” he added.
Rahimi also said that the detainee had confessed to the crime of killing the police officer.
Qasr-e Qand is a town near the Pakistani border and the Persian Gulf, 570 kms south of Zahedan, the Provincial Capital.
