'Relations between the two countries are promoting and their level is unprecedented at the moment,' Director of The Foreign Ministry's School of International Relations Mohammad Kazem Sajjadpour told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) in Moscow on Friday.

The multidimensional structure of relations means that if economic dimension is not in good condition, other dimensions including, political, popular, scientific and research will help develop the ties, he said.

'Studying documents related to Iran-Russia ties not only explains both countries's relations, but it will clarify an important part of the world history, as well as regional and international relations.'

'The volume of trade exchanges between two countries reached $ 2.2 billion in 2016 which experienced a 70% growth compared with the previous year,' Sajjadpour said.

Saying that Russia's support of Iran's nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is significant, he urged Russia to play a more active role in encouraging other parties to better implement the JCPOA.
