Chinese rescue team arrives in western Iran

The team consists of 13 members, four of whom entered Iran today and others are expected to come to the west of the country soon.

The Chinese group is inspecting the area to give information to other group members in order to bring required equipment, head of the rescue team Duhailang told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

'They are experts in rescue, medical and engineering fields and they have brought medicine as well,' he said.

Meanwhile, a six-member German group from Humedica international aid entered Sarpol-e Zahab town, Kermanshah province.

Also the Japanese couple Jonko Ozawa and Fumiaki Nakamura who were in Kurdestan, western Iran at the time of quake are also giving aids to quake-hit people.

A 7.3-magnitude earthquake shook the western province of Kermanshah and the regions bordering Iraq on Sunday night. The quake was felt in some neighboring countries as well.

Based on the latest statistics, at least 436 people have been reported killed and over 10,000 injured in quake-stricken areas in Iran.
