Mogherini: EU against renegotiating Iran's nuclear deal

'This is an agreement that was endorsed by the UN Security Council with a resolution. This has involved six world powers plus the European Union and Iran,” Mogherini said on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, streamed live on the forum’s official website.

“So it is an international agreement. It is not a bilateral agreement and by the way it came after 12 years of very difficult and tough negotiations,” she said.

“I think it is very clear to everybody that reopening it partially will not be possible,” the EU official said.

Mogherini made the remarks in reaction to US President-elect Donald Trump’s comments who has described the 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, as 'the worst deal ever negotiated' and threatened to either dismantle the deal or seek a new one.
