Majlis, Gov’t to jointly review economic problems in Iran

At the Sunday closed session, Majlis Research Center did present a report on the situation of sanctions and the ways to counter them, Ali Larijani, Parliament Speaker, said.

Plan and Budget Organization, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance and the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) also gave explanations about the issue, Larijani noted.

Larijani said different Majlis commissions are planned to bring about more revisions to those issues and make the decisions be operational during a joint committee meeting with the government.

This morning, Iranian lawmakers also discussed strategies for fighting the sanctions against the country.

After Washington's May 8 exit from the historic Iran Deal, the US gave 90- and 180-day wind-down periods to other countries before it starts re-imposing oil sanctions on Tehran on November 4.

When the US sanctions against Iran sparked negative reaction across the world, Washington declared that China, India, Italy, Greece, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Turkey are allowed to import Iran’s oil for only a time-limited period .
