Leader's Advisor: Tehran, Damascus vow to prop up Resistance Front

Velayati made the remarks after his meeting with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem in Damascus on Monday.

Speaking to reporters, he said commonalities between Iran and Syria in Resistance Front are principled and fundamental.

Close and all-out cooperation between Iran and Syria has secured Syria from aggression of aliens and the Americans and the Zionists found out that domination over Syrian government and nation was a mere hallucination, Velayati said.

Everyday we are witnessing successive victories of the Syrian army and its people and there is no doubt that they will overcome all big problems, he said.

Iran and Syria are very coordinated in dealing with developments, Velayati said.

Pace of developments in the region is very high and both sides should exchange more visits in short intervals to share views, he said.

Syrian foreign minister, for his part, told reporters that all-out consolidated and strategic relations between Syria and Iran are known to all.

Damascus is proud of Iran presence in Resistance Front as the country is shared in the victories of Syrian nation and army, Syrian foreign minister said.

Velayati arrived in Syria after concluding his visit to Lebanon.

In Lebanon Velayati conferred with the country's high ranking officials on regional developments.
