Iran's MAPNA, US GE sign precontract

Abbas Ali Abadi made the remarks Monday on the sidelines of signing Aras Combined cycle contract.

'Both companies will have cooperation in energy, oil and gas fields,' he said.

According to the US laws, those American firms which are located inside the US are not permitted to work with Iran, but those which are outside the US and Europe will be able to have cooperation with Iranian companies.

MAPNA Group is a group of Iranian companies involved in development and execution of thermal and renewable power plants, oil & gas, railway transportation and other industrial projects as well as manufacturing main equipment, including gas and steam turbines, electrical generator, turbine blade and vane, HRSG and conventional boilers, electric and control systems, gas compressor, locomotive and other pertinent equipment.

General Electric (GE) is an American multinational conglomerate corporation incorporated in New York and headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts.
