Leader: Officials should pray upon God for serving Iranian nation

Ayatollah Khamenei made the remark in his address to hundreds of thousands of worshippers gathered in Imam Khomeini Mosalla in central Tehran after Eid al-Fitr prayers.

The first day of the month of Shawal marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan and is celebrated as Eid al-Fitr across the Muslim World.

The Supreme Leader congratulated the nation on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, praising the Iranian people for fasting during the longest and hottest days of the year.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that the officials have to be envious of the faith of these people.
