Leader cautions against efforts to change people’s lifestyle

He made the remarks in a meeting with a group of religious poets on Thursday evening on the occasion of martyrdom of Hazrate Fatima Zahra (SA), daughter of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

The Leader said fighting global blasphemy and hypocrisy in the Islamic Republic is quite easy and possible, but under the sinister shadow of certain regional governments, the least disavowal of the US will lead to these governments' extreme reactions.

Fighting the oppressors is not limited to fighting with sword because in today's world, publicity campaign has the final say, he noted.

The Leader added that one can fight against tyrants by employing poetry and literary expression of ideas and there have been good and encouraging examples of this in recent years.

Warning against attempts in Europe and the US to change Islamic lifestyle, Ayatollah Khamenei said they have attacked Islamic lifestyle in order to change people’s aspirations and channelling them into Western ideals.

It is not enough to defend ourselves and make walls around us but poets have a duty to explain the Islamic lifestyle and its moral, political and cultural basis, the Leader added.
