The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the two parties affirmed their commitment to working towards a settlement in Syria on the basis of Security Council resolution no. 2254, SANA reported from Moscow.

The Ministry said the two ministers discussed holding a new international meeting about Syria in Astana, which is due to be held at the end of November.

Lavrov and Cavusoglu also exchanged views on the steps intended to guarantee that the meeting will yield positive results.
