Larijani: Iran, Iraq key partners

Larijani made the remarks in a meeting with Iraqi prime minister's national security advisor Faleh Fayyaz here on Tuesday.

Larijani extended congratulations for holding successful and safe election in Iraq and expressed the hope that the election bore good results for the country.

He underlined the necessity for extending economic cooperation and full execution of 1975 Agreement, adding that it is expected the Iraqi officials consider relations with Iran from different angles.

The speaker expressed the hope that a strong government to be formed in Iraq to be able to bring about developments.

Faleh Fayyaz presented a report on the latest political and security developments in Iraq and appreciated Iranian government and nation's supports for Iraq.

He said that our approach is towards suitable cooperation and of course reconstruction of country's infrastructures.

Fayyaz said a number of big countries are trying to sow religious – sectarian discord in the country, but fortunately these conspiracies are neutralized.

He said that formation of upcoming government in Iraq is very important, adding that his country after Daesh has reborn again.

Faleh Fayyaz met with member of Expediency Council Ali Akbar Velayati, member of Majlis national security and foreign policy commission Aladdin Boroujerdi and Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani on Monday.
