Judiciary chief criticizes abusing human rights bodies

Ayatollah Larijani made the remarks in reaction to the extension of the mission of UN special rapporteur on human rights situation in Iran.

He slammed the human rights bodies for keeping silent in the face of crimes perpetrated by the Zionist regime and the criminal actions of countries like Saudi Arabia in Yemen and other areas.

“It seems that these international organizations have stood by the oppressors instead of the oppressed,” the Ayatollah said.

From the very beginning, Iran believed that the appointment of a special human rights rapporteur was in contradiction of internationally recognized regulations, Amoli Larijani added.

He said that cooperation with such human rights organizations is welcomed, but Iran cannot accept claims by certain terrorist and counter-revolutionary groups as official human rights reports and hopes this trend would change.
