Italian president congratulates Rouhani on re-election

“I am willing to give my sincerest congratulations in my name and Italy for the important results achieved in the elections and wish success for you in the second term in office,” President Mattarella said.

The Italian president said that in the first tenure of Rouhani’s presidency he paved a path of bravery and constructive talks with the international society which resulted in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) which was of historical importance.

“I am confident that cooperation between Iran and Italy which has been initiated in the fields of politics, culture, economy and trade will be expanded and developed more forcefully in the future,” President Mattarella added.
