IRGC Ground Force Commander denies clashes along western borders

He pointed to the recent anti-terrorist operation of Quds Headquarters in the region of Qasr-e-Qand in Sistan and Balochestan Province, and said that a terrorist team supported by the Saudi spying agency wanted to infiltrate into the country to create insecurity and conduct terrorist acts last Thursday, but were identified and arrested in the heights of Qasr-e-Qand region.

During the conflict, a number of terrorists were killed and some others were injured while few of them managed to flee the scene.

The general reminded that the terrorist team had considerable amount of weapons, in addition to a car loaded with 600 kilograms of explosives, 15 bombs ready for conducting suicide attacks and more than 700 kilograms of different types of explosives which were all seized from the terrorists by IRGC.

General Pakpour also denied the news reports concerning conflict between security forces and terrorists along western borders of Iran, including Gilangharb and Sar-e-Pole Zahab, name of the two cities in west of Iran, and said that army, police and security forces have full control and intelligence dominance over the area.
