Iraqi partition, high treason for region, Muslim World

Ayatollah Hashemi Shahroudi made the remarks in a meeting of the Expediency Council on Saturday.

He expressed grief for attempts to start a new sedition in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, saying it is crystal clear the US and the Zionist Regime are the main players of this dangerous move in the region and they aim to create a new Israel.

While pretending to be against referendum in Iraqi Kurdistan Region, the US is in fact supporting it and they tend to force Baghdad to accept disintegration, Ayatollah Hashemi Shahroudi said.

He expressed condolences over the death of the late former Iraqi President Jalal Talabani.

Shahroudi pointed to recent victories of the Iraqi Army and Popular Mobilization Forces against takfiri terrorists and urged Baghdad government to stand against these conspiracy plots by the US and the Zionist Regime.

He also urged Iran to take stricter stance in confronting KRG separation referendum and to make Iraqi Kurdistan Region officials aware of the consequences of this new and dangerous sedition.

Iranian senior official described Turkey common position with Iran and Iraqi Government to prevent future seditions.
