Iran's top advisor visits Eastern Ghouta

Ali Akbar Velayati paid a visit to the Eastern Ghouta in Damascus suburb and met with the Syrian forces and commanders in the region.

The Syrian field commanders explained the operation against the terrorist groups and showed the visiting Iranian official the tunnels used by the terrorists to attack Damascus civilian areas.

Velayati is in Syria to participate in a two-day conference on Quds that began in Damascus on Tuesday.

The event has been organized by Awqaf (Endowment) Ministry of Syria and Iranian bodies.

250 scholars from Egypt, Indonesia, Tunisia, Algeria, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, India and Iran attended the conference.

The participants reviewed ways of reinforcing unity among Muslim scholars.
