“The Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly underlined in open circles and diplomatic meetings with foreign officials like those held by foreign minister in his recent visit to New York that its defense programs are not negotiable and that Tehran does not consider it against the UN Security Council Resolution 2231,” Bahram Qasemi said.
In an earlier report on Friday, the London-based news agency claimed that Iran is open to talks over its missile program.
“Iran deems missile defense programs as its indisputable right and it will continue with it within the framework of its conventional and determined programs and strategies,” Qasemi stressed.
Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has underlined the issue in all his talks and exclusive interviews on the sidelines of this year’s meeting of the UN General Assembly, added the spokesman.
Reuters claimed that Tehran has shown green light to negotiations on certain aspects of its missile defense program on the sidelines of the annual event.
