Iran’s envoy delivers speech in Cuba’s National Defense College

He explained current situation and future developments, security threats and Iran’s strategies in confrontation with challenges and bilateral relations with Cuba.

Elaborating on Iran's achievements over last 38 years, the ambassador said that in many cases Iran ranked first in the Middle East and sometimes in the world, for instance, in the cases of nanotechnology ranked first in the region and seven in the world and are among limited states with the ability to build and launch satellites in orbit.

Concerning foreign policy, Sheikh Hassani said that Iran opposes with hegemony and oppression, instrumental use of human rights, using terrorism and extremism to advance foreign policy goals and impose unjust sanctions by hegemonic powers against freedom-loving nations.

Concerning bilateral ties between Iran and Cuba over past 37 years, the ambassador said that the relations were always based on respect and reciprocal interests and political ties were at their highest level.

Visits of President Rouhani and Foreign Minister Zarif to Cuba, holding the 16th joint economic commission meeting and signing 12 MoUs in different fields of health, agriculture, economy, water and electricity industry, banking cooperation, production of medicine and vaccine were economic efforts to promote its level as much as political one.
