“On the lifting of sanctions, we are faced with operational problems,” Araqchi said in a televised interview with IRIB on Saturday night.
“Americans are not doing enough to facilitate the process, and we expect them to do their commitments for the full implementation of the JCPOA,” he went on to say.
Currently, Iran’s banking system is not as operational as expected to be after the termination of the sanctions, said Araqchi, who also heads a committee set up to monitor the JCPOA implementation.
The Western side should accelerate the process, he urged, calling on the US Treasury to abandon its mischievous approach.
Last month, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said Americans have yet to fulfill what they were supposed to do as per the nuclear deal.
As Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said, Washington has just taken measures on the paper, but is preventing Iran from realizing its objectives through “detours”, the Leader said at the time.
Iran still has problems in its banking transactions or in restoring its frozen assets, because Western countries and those involved in such processes are afraid of Americans, Imam Khamenei said, lashing out at the US for its moves to prevent Iran from taking advantage of the sanctions removal based on the JCPOA.
