A huge explosion rocked Kabul's diplomatic area on Wednesday killing at least 100 and injuring 400 others. The blast took place near one of the national security offices and close to foreign embassies.
The explosion, later claimed by the Daesh (ISIS) terrorist group, was so powerful that the windows of the nearby buildings or those that were one km farther than the site of the blast have been broken.
The blast also shattered windows of the representative office of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) located 500 meters from the site of the incident and happened 200 meters from Iran’s embassy in Kabul. The building was severely hit and the residence of Iran's ambassador was badly damaged.
Consul General of Afghanistan in Mashhad Noorullah Raghi attended the spontaneous gathering of Iranians and thanked them.
'Our Iranian brothers have always sided with the Afghan people and after the Wednesday attack, Iran was the first country that offered condolences,' he added.
Raghi called for continuation of Iran support for establishment of security and peace in Afghanistan.
