Iranian minister, Algerian MP discuss ways to confront terrorism

Salehi Amiri underlined that in the meeting the two sides also discussed increase in parliamentary relations between the two countries and cooperation in many grounds such as dissemination of information and creation of common view in the fight against terrorism.

The minister added that Iran has firm intention to strengthen its bilateral ties with Algeria and President Rouhani has always emphasized on the necessity to expand all-out relations with Algeria.

In the meeting, Algerian parliament Speaker Ould Khalifa called for development of parliamentary relations and launching parliamentary friendship groups which would be beneficial for the common interests of both nations.

Referring to the importance of cultural cooperation between the two countries in all fields of cultural heritage and art, Khalifa said that such relations will be effective to help the two cultures of Iran and Algeria to make progress.

The senior Algerian MP said that Algeria is trying to establish security and peace in the region of the Arabian Maghreb and Africa, adding that all Algerian efforts is in accordance with the political solution in Syria and Iraq and the necessity to avoid any foreign interference, which is the main factor for the Islamic and Arabic nations' problems and challenges.

Salehi Amiri also met with Head of the Algerian High Islamic Council Abu-Abdullah Ghlamallah and invited him accompany Algerian religious scholars to hold joint dialogues with Iranian religious scholars to discuss current Islamic world crises, and added that the religious scholars play prominent role in confrontation with Takfiri thoughts.

Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance departed Tehran for Algiers and Tunis on Monday at invitation of Algerian and Tunisian culture ministers and is due to sign cultural, art cooperation documents.
