Iranian, Armenian foreign ministers exchange congratulations

In the message, Nalbandian underlined Armenia and Iran have strong ties with each other for thousand of years as well as deep respect between the two nations and reciprocal attention to each other's cultures and good neighboring interactions.

He continued that appropriate grounds in all fields have provided possibilities to be sure that by common efforts, mutual interactions between the two nations will be deepened and consolidated.

Nalbandian called role of Zarif in bilateral development process important and congratulated the 25th anniversary of establishment diplomatic relations between the two countries and wished more success for his Iranian counterpart.

Zarif, in his message, underlined that under management of both countries leaders, the bilateral ties have expanded in all grounds.

He also wished prosperity, happiness for the Armenian nation and his counterpart.

Iran recognized Armenian independence on December 25, 1991 and 45 days later, upon signed statement in Tehran establishment of friendly relations were underlined.

Iran opened its embassy in Yerevan in April 1992 and Armenia opened its embassy in Tehran in December 1992.

The two countries have signed 25 agreements and MoU so far.
