On the two-day visit, General Baqeri is going to hold meetings on border cooperation, countering terrorism, and discuss regional developments.

General Baqeri will visit Azerbaijan at the invitation of the country's Minister of Defense Zakir Hasanov.

This would be the first visit of an Iranian general to the northern neighboring state.
