Iran, Turkmenistan sign MOU on consular, customs and border co-op

The deputy foreign ministers of Iran and Turkmenistan represented the two countries in the joint commission meeting held at the premises of the Turkmen foreign ministry in Ashkhabad.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for parliamentary affairs Hussein Panahi Azar and Turkmenistan Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Hajiev led the two countries' delegations at the meeting.

Facilitating the travels of Iranian and Turkmenistan nationals to each other's countries, providing necessary facilities for issuing visas and for quicker access to consular services, customs cooperation and border issues discussed at the meeting.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is scheduled to pay an official visit to Turkmenistan in late March.
