Iran, India favor enhanced relations

During the meeting held at Iran’s Embassy in Yerevan at the request of Indian Ambassador Yogeshwar Sangwan, both sides discussed Iran-India-Armenian trilateral cooperation.

Iran’s Ambassador to Armenia Seyyed Kazem Sajjadi welcomed Tehran-New Delhi cooperation in various economic, educational and political fields within the framework of regional collaboration.

Sangwan, for his part, voiced his country’s interest in trilateral collaboration, saying that Indian economic and trade activists are keen on investing in Armenia.

India is interested in regional transit projects including corridor from the Persian Gulf to the Black Sea and TRACECA, he added.

Transport corridor, Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) is an international transport program involving the European Union and 14 member States of the Eastern European, Caucasian and Central Asian region. The program’s aim is to strengthen economic relations, trade and transport in the regions of the Black Sea basin, South Caucasus and Central Asia.
Iran officially joined TRACECA in 2009 as the 14th member of the corridor.
