Falahatpisheh, the head of Majlis (Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, made the remarks during a meeting with the new Turkish ambassador to Iran Derya Ors.
He hailed the planning by both Iran and Turkey to boost bilateral trade to the level of $ 30 billion.
The Turkish ambassador expressed the hope that he would be able to take positive steps to serve the interests of both countries during his tenure.
Ors said that defensive and security cooperation between the two neighboring countries ensures stability and security along the joint borders and prevents terrorist activities.
