The meeting was held between Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation General Osipov lgor Vladimirovich and Deputy Coordinator Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi.
lgor Vladimirovich is in Tehran to attend the second joint commission of Iran-Russia military cooperation.
During the meeting, both sides expressed happiness over the level of relations between Iran and Russia.
They also underlined the importance of promoting cooperation in line with requirements related to regional security conditions, foreigners and trans-regional powers' intervention.
Fadavi and lgor Vladimirovich exchanged views on holding cooperation in security, industrial, research and training fields.
They described defeating takfiri terrorism as the outcome of strategic cooperation of both countries' armed forces.
